As a Digital Media Designer for Walt Disney Imagineering’s Theme Park Productions, Mike Iwerks brings to the company a unique combination of Disney history and audio-visual wizardry. He is responsible for producing experiences which engage internal and external audiences through video editing and content creation.

In January 2005, Iwerks began working for Walt Disney Imagineering, which was his dream since the 7th grade. In doing so, he became the 4th generation from the Iwerks family to work for The Walt Disney Company, beginning with his Oscar® winning great-grandfather Ub Iwerks, who was Walt Disney's original partner in the 1920s and co-creator of Mickey Mouse as well as numerous technical creations for motion pictures. Recent projects that Iwerks has worked on include Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage for Disneyland Park and Gran Fiesta Tour featuring the Three Caballeros for the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Iwerks began his career in entertainment in 1994 as a child actor, and appeared in several TV shows and commercials within a 5-year period of time. He has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild for over a decade. In 1998, Iwerks toured with the Academy Award-winning performance group The Young Americans as front-of-house sound engineer. Shortly after completing the tours, Iwerks became an on-air personality for a Southern California radio station, where he produced a weekly rock show. His successful show was syndicated across the United States and England. While employed at the radio station, he worked various freelance jobs on the side, including the 2003 MTV Spring Break in Miami Beach, The American Music Awards, the NAACP Image Awards, the TV Land Awards, and many others. Cooperating with the radio station and other sponsors allowed him to be able to produce rock concerts across Southern California. Even though Iwerks is now a full-time Imagineer, he occasionally moonlights on the side as a DJ.

Walt Disney Imagineering is the unique innovative organization that creates - from concept through construction – all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions, cruise ships, real estate developments, and regional entertainment venues worldwide. Imagineering’s unique strength comes from the teamwork and syntheses of creative and technical professionals representing more than 140 diverse disciplines.
