About Mike Iwerks

Mike Iwerks began his career in entertainment in 1994 as a child actor, and appeared on several TV shows and commercials within a 5-year period of time.

Within a few months, he was eligible to join the Screen Actors Guild. He has been a member of SAG for over 10 years.

After graduating from high school, Mike encountered a new adventure: touring with the Academy Award-winning performance group known as The Young Americans. His superb skills in electronics and audio helped him rise to the prestigious position of front-of-house sound engineer in the group. In two years of touring with The Young Americans, he was fortunate enough to help bring music to several cities in the United States and even to Australia and New Zealand!

Shortly after completing the tours, Mike auditioned for the radio station KWVE 107.9 as an “On-Air” personality. He got the job, and soon found himself producing the only Christian Rock show in Southern California, "Reaction Radio". The success of his program brought it syndication across the United States, and would soon be carried across the seas, in England.

While employed at the radio station, he worked various freelance jobs on the side, including the 2003 MTV Spring Break in Miami Beach, The American Music Awards, the NAACP Image Awards, the TV Land Awards, and many others. Cooperating with KWVE/Reaction Radio and other sponsors allowed Mike to be able to produce rock concerts across Southern California.

In January 2005, Mike received a telephone call from Walt Disney Imagineering. This was a family dream, as Mike is the 4th generation of Iwerks family to work with the Disney Company, beginning with his great-grandfather Ub Iwerks, who was Walt Disney's original partner in the 1920s and best known for actually creating the much-loved character Mickey Mouse.

After being the producer of the Reaction Radio show for four years, he chose to close that chapter in his life in order to pursue his dreams of working for Walt Disney Imagineering and freelancing in the very demanding wedding industry. Mike is currently a Sound Editor for Walt Disney Imagineering and Theme Park Productions.

With 12 years of hands-on experience in the sound and entertainment industry, his resume truly speaks for itself. Mike Iwerks and Iwerks Productions will give you unaltered creativity backed by a lifetime of experience, bringing you the best possible wedding entertainment without compromising quality.
