In December of 2016, many were ready to put the year behind them and get into 2017 with hope for a better year. I wanted to make 2017 a year of giving back, specifically through photography. I started searching out and working with many non-profits, humanitarian and charity organizations in the Los Angeles area. A recent photographic work I was able to participate in took me to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Hematology & Oncology wing, where I photographed 10 children (and their families) whom are battling cancer. I photographed for an organization called “Flashes of Hope” that provides free portraits of these beautiful children to help them see themselves in a new light. I was honored that these families would allow me to capture one of the most difficult times of their lives.
